Practical advice from an employment law expert

Corporate Social Responsibility

The HR Headmistress and Russell HR Consulting team understand that being successful in business is not just about working hard, but also about being responsible and doing our bit of charity.  We are happy to share our success with worthwhile causes, and here are some of the organisations and our own way of free workshop for the school leavers with which we are delighted to be involved.

Dogs for the Disabled

Law on the Move® is designed to give you a helping hand in keeping up-to-date with employment law. It also gives Dogs for the Disabled a helping hand as ten per cent of the subscription fee is given to support their activities.

Dogs for the Disabled train dogs to live and work with disabled people, allowing their owners to live with greater independence and freedom than they would otherwise enjoy. Every dog trained by the charity learns practical tasks such as opening doors, helping a person undress – even emptying a washing machine.

Since the charity began in 1988 over 400 dogs have been trained to help disabled people. In 2000, a national training centre was opened in Banbury, Oxfordshire. When you subscribe to Law on the Move®, you’ll also be giving a helping hand to a very worthwhile charity.

The Bob Champion Cancer Trust

In 1981, Bob Champion rode the Grand National for everyone suffering from cancer and for all the people who care for them.

Following his win, the interest and support generated by his triumph over adversity led to the foundation of The Bob Champion Cancer Trust in 1983.

The aim of the trust is to improve methods of detection and treatment, to identify cancer genes, and, ultimately, to eradicate male cancers.

Bob Champion wrote the foreword to Off the Sick List!, and a donation from every sale is made to the foundation.

Willen Hospice

Willen Hospice is a registered charity based at a quiet lakeside area of Milton Keynes that provides specialist care for people whose illness no longer responds to curative treatment.

On several occasions Russell HR Consulting Ltd has teamed up with local experts to deliver Employment law training and raise money for Willen Hospice at the same time.

Build and Fly Your Own Rocket

Russell HR Consulting are helping young people to get and keep a  job. An increasing concern about the standards of knowledge, skills and confidence demonstrated by jobseekers leaving school has prompted Kate Russell, The HR Headmistress, to create and offer free workshops called Build and Fly Your Own Rocket, to help prepare school leavers for the workplace.

Russell HR Consulting has designed three workshops aimed at giving young people age 14 – 18 very practical advice to help them start planning what they want to do and how they are going to get there.
